1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi my name is Austin Reed and I am the owner of All Out DJ. I got started in the wedding industry when I joined All Out DJ in 2015, when the company was in its infancy. When I joined, I started as a DJ and helped out with the web development, SEO, and marketing. Within about 2 years, I became a partner in the business and took over many of the organizational operations duties. In 2020, I acquired the business and became the sole owner of the company. Over those 6 years or operation, All Out DJ has grown from a startup with an average of 2-3 bookings per month into one of the most popular DJ companies in Oklahoma City, averaging over 100 weddings & events per year.
Interestingly enough, I didn't become a DJ for weddings, nor did I ever anticipate to be a business owner or to see the kind of growth All Out DJ has seen. However, in hindsight, I now realize that business and entrepreneurship is my passion, and I have really come to love being a wedding professional. One of the many things that I love about being a Wedding DJ is just being able to meet couples and to help them navigate the entire process, from booking to wedding day, and then being able to see their vision come together in the most remarkable way on their wedding day! I have formed some incredible connections with both couples and wedding professionals, which has made this journey both one of the most delightful and humbling experiences of my life.
2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?
I have been a wedding professional for 6 years and I have personally provided entertainment for over 300 weddings in that time frame. As a partner and owner of All Out DJ, I have successfully worked with over 600 couples to provide music and entertainment services for their wedding day.
3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?
Based on what our company sees, most couples should plan to book anywhere from 6-9 months out. If you are planning a wedding on a Saturday in the Spring or Fall season, you'll want to consider booking anywhere from 9-12 months out. Although we are a multi-op with the capacity to take in up to 4 weddings per day, we often find ourselves completely booked and turning couples away on those popular wedding dates in the spring/fall season. To ensure you book the DJ that you want to book, and not the only DJ you can find, it is important to plan accordingly and get that date secured as quickly as possible.
4. What's your rate? What does that include?
Our rates vary, ranging anywhere from $800 to $1600+. We offer several packages that couples can choose from and we give every couple the option to build their own custom package. We offer many great features, such as Dancing On Clouds, Sparkulars, Photobooth, Uplighting and more!
Our rates cover up to 5 hours of service, with the ability to add time if needed. All of our rates include the setup and tear down time, and that time does not count against the 5 hours of service time. Our rate for over time is typically $100 per hour.
No matter the package you choose, we provide you with professional sound, DJ booth, dance floor lighting, microphones and MC services for both your ceremony and your reception.
5. Are you available to travel if needed?
All Out DJ services the OKC metro and surrounding areas at no cost. We are also willing travel anywhere in the state of Oklahoma, or surrounding states. Travel fees are applied accordingly for weddings that fall outside of our service coverage areas.
6. How would you describe your style?
All Out DJ is the perfect mixture of fun, professional, and adaptable. We strive to stand out with our service, and to blend perfectly with your wedding design and style. As true wedding and entertainment professionals, we first meet with you and we listen to your wedding vision. We ask questions, offer recommendations, and get you going in the right direction to help you understand the difference between a good event and an unforgettable event. We know how to keep things light early on in the evening, and we know exactly how to "turn up the volume" on any dance floor when it's time to celebrate!
7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?
We only run the best equipment on the market. You'll never have to worry about us showing up with shoddy, malfunctioning equipment. All equipment is tested regularly and removed from service immediately if an issue is ever found. We have reserve equipment on standby at all times, should there ever be a need that arises.
8. What's your sick day policy?
Being a multi-op, you get the comfort and security of being 100% assured that you will NEVER be without a DJ on your big day! Our team of professionals are highly trained, and we always schedule with the flexibility to have one of our team members cover for someone who is sick or has an emergency. Our team is comprised of 7 professional DJs and we only take up to 4 bookings per day, leaving us with plenty of staffing to cover events if ever there is a need.
9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?
I always love connecting with my couples and discussing a welcome speech to set the table for the evening. Beyond that, we also have several tricks that we can try to keep people engaged and get them dancing. One of my favorite tricks is to start the song "Celebration" by Kool & The Gang and ask a couple of people from the dance floor (or our newlyweds) to start a train (think conga line) and go around the room and pick people up. During this time, I love to improvise on the mic, encouraging the guests who are seated to hop in line. Once we have a big line, we bring it to the dance floor and hit a line dance or popular song that the guests will love to dance to!
There are many other tricks that we can try, but one of the most contagious dance floors is one that features the newlyweds. It's important for you to dance and celebrate with your guests as often as you can.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
Bookings are secured with a 20% retainer fee. If for any reason a cancellation is requested, the retainer fee (20%) will not be refunded. Any amount paid that exceeds the retainer will be refunded.
