1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi I'm Dan Obermann, founder of SoundBlessed where we set the tone for your perfect event. My love for DJing started over 8 years ago when my best friend at the time wanted to get into radio, but as a stepping stone chose to learn the ropes of being a wedding DJ. After being invited to join him I DJ'ed my first wedding and the rest is history. Over 400+ weddings, and 8 years later I have become obsessed with marketing, automation, web design, and anything else that helps a business grow and become the best. My goal is to grow SoundBlessed to be the biggest Wedding DJ company in the Midwest and to share my story along the way.
2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?
I have been DJing weddings for 8 years and have personally done 400+. My passion is to get out on the dancefloor and really bring the joy and energy to the party.
3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?
We are one of the most flexible DJ services around, ideally our couples book a few months out, but we will take new bookings up to 30 days away from a wedding.
4. What's your rate? What does that include?
We have three different packages with an a la carte option on top. Our most popular package includes music for your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception with a completely wireless and battery powered ceremony/cocktail hour rig and dance floor lighting. This package includes 16 wireless uplights and 4 hours of service for $1,495 with additional hours available for $200/hr.
5. Are you available to travel if needed?
We travel all over the state of Wisconsin. Anything within a 2-hour drive from Milwaukee has no additional travel fee.
6. How would you describe your style?
My style is very interactive with people, getting out on the dancefloor personally and leading dances and encouraging non-dances to come out to the dancefloor.
7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?
Our completely wireless ceremony and cocktail system is battery powered and lasts up to 8 hours, so if anything happens to the power or our equipment, then every DJ has this speaker and their phone and can keep the party going no matter what.
8. What's your sick day policy?
If our DJ is too sick to attend the day-of then we send out a backup DJ who is just as skilled with the already filled out paperwork through the client portal.
9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?
Keep your head down and keep mixing. Most DJs will resort to playing their biggest hits and most popular songs at the sight of a dead crowd, but we know that guests may be socializing or finishing eating and drinking before they are ready to get on the dancefloor, so we keep mixing in different genres to see what gets the most feet tapping along, and may go table to table and ask "what song would get you out on the dancefloor tonight?", but we know that if we just keep mixing, eventually they will make their way out.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
Our $400 non-refundable downpayment can be used as a credit towards your future event, any money on top of that is immediately refunded as long as the cancellation is more than 30 days out from the wedding.
