1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, I’m Britainé Garvins, Licensed Cosmetologist and Makeup Artist at Britainé D’czyz Hair and Makeup Artistry.
Congratulations on your engagement and thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to review my business.
Just a little background on who I am and what I offer as your bridal beauty expert. I started my career in the beauty industry over 13 years ago. I specialize in on location bridal sessions and natural hair care services.

2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?
As a Bridal Hair and Makeup Artist, I’ve experienced so many memorable moments every girl dreams about. I’ve traveled so many places and completed services for numerous bridal parties. I’m sure I have over a 100 brides in my portfolio. I absolutely love my career as I’m the person behind my brides angelic glow.
3. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I don’t offer any packages at this time. However, I do customize each bride’s experience to fit her needs and personality. I offer in salon or on location services. I encourage my brides to choose concierge services to avoid so much running around. After all, you deserve to be pampered and comfortable.
4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?
On the day of your wedding, I will arrive fIfteen minutes early to set up your glam station. Prior to your wedding day, we will create a schedule and discuss inspiration photos to determine everyone’s look during your trial session.
Unfortunately at this time, I don’t have a team of assistants. However, I will hire an assistant for bridal parties over 7 people. If I become ill, I will make arrangements to find you another artist.
5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I require a travel fee for all on location services. My travel rate is based on the distance from my salon address to your address. I’m available to offer concierge services for destination weddings with reasonable notice. For example, I will need at least a year notice to fly out of the country. Whereas traveling a few hours is based on my availability and can be scheduled at a short notice if needed. However, I highly recommend reserving beauty services for your wedding day at least 6 months in advance.
6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?
I highly recommend all brides to complete a bridal consultation. However, I don’t require them. During your bridal consultation, we will discuss your makeup and/or hair preparations for your wedding day. We will further complete a makeup and/or hair trial. I always encourage my brides to complete this service on a day they would like to have a polished look. That way, you’re able to see how your makeup and/or hair lasts throughout your event.
7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?
I highly recommend allowing me to have creative control, but if you would like me to use certain products, I’m open to doing so. I have in the past due to a client’s skin sensitivity or preferences. I use an array of professional products for makeup services. Just to name a few, Estée Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Juvias Place, and Tarte Cosmetics. I also use some drug store brands, such as Covergirl, Maybeline, and NYX.
8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?
I do extensive research on what products to use for different skin types. Over the years, I’ve learned it’s all about your skin preparation. I offer a checklist for you to follow. For example, I ask you to increase your water intake the week of your wedding. I also encourage you to remove any facial hair or exfoliate two to three days prior to your wedding day to prevent skin irritation. Overall, using the proper products in conjunction with great skin care and preparation from the inside out is my go to strategy for a flawless makeover.
9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?
It normally takes 30-45 minutes per person depending on what services are needed. However, I schedule each service in hour increments. I will stay until I’ve finished. I touch up everyone I’ve provided services for before I leave (after my bride is in her dress) unless I’m asked to stay after the wedding for touch ups.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
All deposits are non refundable. I allow deposits to carry over if it’s a Covid related issue. You are able to cancel, but you must pay your agreed balance after your deposit has been submitted. I try my best to be an understanding person as I know things do come up. Communication is key and we can always discuss different options if unforeseen circumstances do arise.
My cancellation policy is included in your concierge agreement that is electronically submitted after you complete your bridal consultation.
