1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hello Lovelies!
My name is Andrea Blankas, I'm Mena and I'm Mara. We are a mother and daughters team and Lovely Beauty Bar's owners!
Lovely Beauty Bar was founded 4 years ago and has been growing ever since but Andrea's knowledge and experience in the cosmetology exceeds 29 years! We pride our selves for being Wisconsin's first beauty salon designed for bridal parties to get ready at together but we also have our Lovely Beauty Team that will come to you!

My passion for beauty started when I was a child and by the time I was 16 years old I knew what I wanted to do, so I started cosmetology school and received my license when I was 18. Not long after I moved to the united states from Mexico and I continued perusing my passion and transferred my cosmetology license over and got my Wisconsin License. My love for my craft continues to grow and so does my hunger for knowledge which is why I never stop attending classes, workshops, and expo's; as I always want to learn and offer the best services to my clients and also teach my team.
Mena:
Inevitably Mara and I have been a part of the beauty world ever since we were children. We would be our mom's model for any practicing she wanted to do, which was a lot since she never stops learning new things. My own love for makeup started from an early age and by the time I was 18 I was a pro makeup artist.
2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?
Andrea has had over 29 years in the cosmetology field and has been passing on her knowledge to Mena for the past 8 years.
Together they have over 5 years specifically in the bridal hair and makeup industry, working with over a hundred brides.
3. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
We offer both traditional and airbrush makeup. All our makeup packages include lashes and a touch up kit for the bride.
Bridal hair also includes a touch up kit to ensure our lovely brides have everything they need to touch up after they're out on the dance floor!
We offer different customizable packages that can be found on our website.
Not only do we offer hair and makeup but we also offer an array of services including eyebrow threading and waxing, hair color, facials, microblading and many other beauty services to keep our brides looking their best!
4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?
With over 29 years of experience Andrea has created a team who she's personally coached and taught to ensure quality and professional services. Mena is the coordinator and your point of contact when inquiring about Bridal services. Mara is a team manager and she ensures everything is running smoothly. Together they have created a team and a system to ensure professional services every time. Depending on the day and size of party they can each work together for a bridal party or split off into 3 groups to lead a team of stylist and makeup artist on a busier weekend that has more than one weddings on the same day. No matter the circumstances Lovely Beauty Bar is a team and with Andrea as the teams coach and teacher we guarantee professional, beautiful quality work every time!
5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
We have a $25 travel fee per 15 miles. This covers our mileage expense as well as our loading and unloading fee as we bring our own lighting and chairs to every on site location.
6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?
Yes! We absolutely recommend a trial and offer trials before the weddings.
Although not required it is definitely recommended for a multitude of reasons. We wrote a whole blog post on our website about why it's important and we go into the details of this as well.
7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?
We use an array of products and we do not limit ourselves to one brand as we try an abundance and pick our favorites. Some brands we carry are Chanel, Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, as well as MAC, Urban Decay, MAC Pro, Face atelier, and many others. We use different products for different skin types and complexions.
We would not be opposed to a bride using some of her own makeup, depending on what it was and the reasoning as well as making sure it was a good choice for them.
8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?
Every face is different, so each person will have different products used on them that will ensure longevity of the makeup and make photograph well. One thing we specifically focus on to ensure both these things are skin care and prep. Good skin care and prep will be the foundation of a good makeup application and will be the key factor in ensuring makeup last, looks great in person and in camera!
9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?
Makeup takes 30-45 minutes for a bridesmaid and 60-75 minutes for the bride. Either Andrea, Mena, or a Lovely Beauty Bar makeup artist will stay after all makeup services have been completed if requested by the bride. This is not something that is necessary but it is an add on that some brides choose to include in their package!
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
We know planning a wedding around a pandemic is very difficult. That's why we give a 4 weeks before a wedding to cancel if necessary. More details of our cancellation policy can be found on website
