1. Introduction: What's your story?
I'm Wedding Officiant Jon and have been working with couples and creating great weddings for over 20 years! My first wedding was for a good friend who thought I would be a perfect fit given my experience (I have an extensive background in public speaking and broadcasting). In addition to receiving many positive comments after my first attempt at officiating, there were a couple other people present who loved the job I did and thought I would be great for their upcoming weddings as well! As I began to officiate more weddings, word-of-mouth increased and things really began to take off. An increasing number of wedding planners and other vendors began to recommend me, and I developed a real love and passion for working with couples. I love to put my many years of valuable experience to work at every wedding I have the privilege of officiating!
2. What's your experience as a wedding officiant? How many weddings have your officiated?
I have officiated well over 3,000 weddings. I have performed weddings in a variety of venues and settings for couples of every imaginable background, walk of life, ethnicity, gender preference, and religious beliefs (or lack of)!
3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?
Since my schedule fills quickly, the farther out couples book me, the more likely it is that I will be available to officiate their wedding. However, I also get many requests from couples who are scrambling to find an officiant just days or even hours in advance! If I'm available, I will step in and alleviate whatever stress the couple has! Even when a last-minute wedding results in me having little to no prep time, I will still see to it that the wedding ceremony flows smoothly and effortlessly.
4. How would you describe your officiant style?
Relaxed elegance. I have a very friendly and warm personality and enjoy being around people. This translates well to officiating weddings, as countless people have commented on the natural connection I build with couples and their guests. I have a good sense of humor, am a pro at engaging audiences of all sizes, and love what I do. These values are all on display when I lead a wedding, and I will always work with couples to reflect the specific tone, approach, and style they want reflected in their wedding.
5. What are your fees for officiating a wedding?
My rates vary depending on the services required, time of day/week, and how far I will be traveling. My rates for traveling to a location for a planned-out wedding typically begin at $495, but are less for simple "I do" ceremonies or situations that involve minimal travel.
6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?
Typically I wear a nice dark suit which ensures I look classy and blend in naturally with the photos. I am always happy to adopt my specific attire to a couple's preferences.
7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?
This entirely depends on what the needs of the couple are and what their expectations are for the ceremony. But typically many couples like to hop on an initial "meet and greet" call, followed by a later meeting to completely plan out the wedding ceremony once the couple completes Jon's planning worksheet.
8. Will you be able to create a personalized ceremony?
Absolutely! Every wedding I officiate is always personalized and customized for the couple. I stay away from generic, cookie-cutter scripts as couples are looking for a ceremony that uniquely reflects who they are.
9. Are you available to travel if needed?
Yes, I travel throughout much of Southern California. I also travel from time to time to the San Francisco Bay Area to work with couples there.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
The initial deposit required to book Jon and secure his services is non-refundable.
