1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hello and welcome, I'm Rev Terry Burke, The owner, Officiant and founder of The Groovy Wedding Company. I started performing wedding ceremonies 11 years ago when I discovered that the area was in need of an Officiant that would perform Non-Traditional, Non-Religious, Themed Ceremonies, Steampunk Ceremonies, Cosplay Ceremonies, Handfasting and pagan Ceremonies and much much more . From there it has been a very fun and uphill journey that I would not trade for anything in the world . Performing these one of a kind unique ceremonies is truly awesome, and the couples I serve are some of the best and most fun people I have ever met and I am truly honored to have the chance to be a part of each and every special wedding day for couples .
2. What's your experience as a wedding officiant? How many weddings have your officiated?
I have been performing wedding ceremonies for over 11 years and have officiated approximately 1300 ceremonies over that time .
3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?
It is always wise for couples to book with me as far in advance as possible, as my calendar does fill up for the year quickly , But I do take reservations as little as 2-3 days before a ceremony if I have availability for the date and time needed .
4. How would you describe your officiant style?
Most all ceremonies I perform are Non-Traditional Non-Religious ( Unless otherwise requested ) I keep them within 15-30 minuets long . I always give each couple the opportunity to say or read any special words or vows they may have for each other , And since I perform a number of different themed ceremonies I can customize the ceremonies to meet the couples theme and I also dress in costume for the theme of the ceremony , I have a wardrobe of costumes for just about every theme possible .
5. What are your fees for officiating a wedding?
The standard fee for a basic ceremony is $200.00 I offer wedding photography and ceremony rehearsals as well and those packages range in price depending on the package the couple would like . I will also travel outside of my normal area to perform a ceremony with an added fee for travel time .
6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?
The attire I wear for a ceremony depends greatly on if the ceremony is Casual, Semi Formal, Formal or Themed . My signature attire is a Top Hat for Formal Ceremonies .
Since I do perform a lot of themed ceremonies I will dress I attire for the ceremony theme such as Steampunk, Star Wars Jedi, Wizard, and so many more .
7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?
Normally a couple will contact me first to check if I am available for their date. If I am I will give them booking instructions . once they are booked with me, they then may contact me as much as they wish to discus any details for their ceremony or ask any questions they may have . I encourage couples to contact me for any reason they may have .
8. Will you be able to create a personalized ceremony?
I do customize ceremonies for couples upon request . I do perform many different unity ceremonies such as Handfasting, Sand Unity, Candle Unity and so many more as I do specialize in custom themed ceremonies .
9. Are you available to travel if needed?
I normally perform ceremonies within a 45 mile radius of Pigeon Forge TN , But do travel outside of that area to perform a ceremony for an extra travel fee if I am available . I do frequently perform more then one ceremony in a day so I may not always be available to travel outside of the 45 mile area .
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
All monies paid to The Groovy Wedding company are Non Refundable unless I have to cancel a reservation which I have never had to do as of yet, If that should happen I will coordinate a refund for the couple . I request that if a couple needs to cancel or reschedule a ceremony with me that they do so as much in advance as possible so I may free up the time on my calendar for other couples wishing to book my services .
