Hello friend!
I'm Kara, lover of sunshine, flowers and film!
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to look through my little web-world.
I was born and raised in South Africa but have moved around quite a bit leading me to living in Canada for 9 years and now the beautiful sunny California for 6 years.
Traveling and moving has really opened my eyes to viewing each moment as important and one of kind! Trying to treasure each good moment (and even the bad ones) to remember how good life is!
That’s what really drew me to the art of photographs. A photograph is a moment frozen in time. Nothing can compare to that, because let’s face it, our memory can fade and our minds eye picture can even dwindle. But a photo can really last forever. What you felt in each moment should come flooding back every time you look at your photos.
Which leads to how I love capturing romantic, dreamy and true-to-life photos. I'm always chasing after the perfect light and raw emotion between two love struck souls.
My goal as a photographer is to make you feel relaxed and comfortable during your wedding, engagement or any other special occasion!
From my love of shooting film, I am drawn to natural, light, crisp images.
Below is a photo of my hubby (Ryan) and I and our sweet pup Kylo. Ryan is not only my husband and best friend but ALSO my second shooter. We are a husband and wife team and there is no greater pleasure than getting to work along side him. We love using light in a unique way that creates romantic and joy-filled images. We love having fun with our couples on their wedding day and we're down for any adventure!
We LOVE to travel and explore new places, so don’t worry about keeping it local!
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I have been in the Wedding Industry on and off since 2011. I officially began my own business in 2017 and my husband and I have been photographing weddings together ever since then. We've had the privilege of photographing over 50 amazing couples and weddings!
3. How would you describe your photography style?

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
At least 8-12 months. Your main wedding vendors book out fast, so its good to get them booked as soon as you can!
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
Our standard package is 8 hours of coverage with 2 photographers for $4200 with your hi resolution images delivered through an online gallery.
Our wedding price guide allows you to add on other sessions (engagement, boudoir, post-wedding, etc), additional hours for the wedding day, albums and prints.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
Yes, my husband and I are the two main photographers and will be the photographers at your wedding day!
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
If your wedding location is over an hour outside of Sacramento, there is a $75 travel per hour.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
They are not included, but you are able to add on fine art albums, prints and usb's.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
About 6-8 weeks after your wedding day, however you will receive 5-10 sneak peeks within 2 days after the wedding day.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
If for any reason you need to move your wedding date, the booking fee can be transferred to a new date. However, if the wedding is cancelled all together, the booking fee is non-refundable.
