1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hello! My name is Jasmine Lee and I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer located in San Francisco, California. This past April 2021, I officially marked my 9th year in business! Even though my career intention was to not become a photographer, everything fell into place when my best friend, who is also a photographer, asked me to help her photograph a dance competition (World of Dance) back in 2009. I was happy to help her out so she taught me how to photograph with her DSLR. After reviewing the photos I captured, we were blown away with the images. These photos inspired me to learn everything I possibly can about a camera. In 2010, I did the “365 Project” where I took one photo a day for a year and challenged myself every single day to take a better photo than the last. My love for photography grew everyday, and I pursued my own photography company in 2012 and the rest is history!
Since then I've had the pleasure of photographing couples all over the Bay Area, U.S., and the world including: France, Indonesia, Fiji, South Korea, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands. There is no greater reward than being able to capture the most precious moments in a couple’s lives. I've had the utmost honor of being published in numerous print magazines such as BRIDES Magazine, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Modern Luxury Brides, and Today's Brides. For online press, my work has been published on Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Destination I do, Green Wedding Shoes, Magnolia Rouge, Wedding Sparrow, and more.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
Being an official business for 9 years, I've had the pleasure of photographing over 250 weddings and counting. There's nothing more rewarding than learning a couple's love story and translating their love into photographs.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is timeless, romantic, and artistic. I love the bright and airy look to the esthetics of my photographs. When I'm photographing, my couples are always the main focus while the background should only compliment them. The background should never overpower them. When I am photographing, I am paying attention to all the small details like how your eyelashes look to the way your fingers are curled. I will help guide my couples into all of the poses while maintaining a natural look.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
Most couples book about 6 months to 1.5 years out for their wedding photographer. For me, my couples book me on average one year out of their wedding. I think the best time to book your wedding photographer is during winter or spring when vendor dates are still relatively available. Usually after New Year’s Day and Valentine's Day are the most popular times for couples to book their photographers.
My weekend dates book relatively quickly so I would advise my couples to reach out to me at the earliest 1.5 years out. Wedding season in California is April through November so those are the busiest months for weddings. For photoshoots like engagement sessions, my dates typically book out 3 months in advance.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I offer three wedding collections.
The first collection is my all-inclusive wedding collection that includes 8 hours coverage, 2 photographers, 2 hour engagement session and an 11x14 heirloom album.
The second collection includes only 10 hours of wedding coverage and 2 photographers.
The third collection includes only 8 hours of wedding coverage and 2 photographers.
The first collection is one of my most popular options amongst my couples. However, if the couples do not want an heirloom album, they would opt for the third collection and add on an a la carte engagement session. Many couples also purchase an heirloom album as an add on after their wedding, too.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
I am present at every single wedding and I am the lead photographer. Depending on the collection that the couple reserves, I almost always have another associate photographer to assist me at weddings. My associate photographer and I have dedicated responsibilities throughout the day to capture different parts of the wedding so that we as a team can give you a collective and cohesive wedding gallery.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
100 miles roundtrip from San Francisco is included in every wedding collection. There is a small travel fee after 100 miles roundtrip.
If the wedding requires extensive travel i.e., flights, lodging, transportation, meals, check-in luggages, the clients will be responsible for these fees.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
The heirloom album is included in my Collection I and I also offer them as an a la carte option should the clients decide they want to purchase one after their wedding. I always encourage my couples to create an heirloom album after their wedding because this is their "end" product of the wedding. What better way to relive and cherish their memories by looking at their wedding photos in a gorgeously handcrafted heirloom album that can be passed down for generations.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
By contract, the wedding photos take 8-10 weeks for the entire gallery to be completely edited. However, depending on the season, I can usually turn the images around sooner. Couples will receive their wedding photos through a beautiful online gallery where they can download their images and/or share the link with family and friends to enjoy.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
Under any circumstance, any fees paid are non-refundable. However, if they decide to postpone their wedding, they may postpone one-time at no additional charge.
