1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi I'm Mike Peraino, founder of Killer Creations Wedding Photography and Cinematography. For over a decade our tight-knit Killer Creations team has become known for our fun, creative take on timeless, classic wedding photography. We specialize in creating an easy-going atmosphere and making “every day people” feel their best in front of the camera. We love what we do and we have fun doing it for very awesome people.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
Our small team have each been shooting weddings for about 12 years. We got started shooting together, pushing each other creatively and getting better and better at our craft together. In more recent years, we've been shooting around 100 weddings a year which allows us to split up a bit and lead awesome teams. It's always fun for us when we get to shoot together again on occasion.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
Our style is a modern take on classic portraiture mixed with photojournalism to capture all the special moments that unfold throughout the day. We like your photos to be timeless, vibrant and emotional to tell your story in a fresh way that will stay relevant for years to come.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
Our wedding dates tend to book up a year in advance, but we try to accommodate weddings with a shorter timeline. In recent years, we've been shooting a lot of multi-day wedding events that keep us shooting most Thursdays through Sundays from June through October. Having a small, trusted team behind me allows us to cover multiple events to accommodate our awesome couples. The best time to book your photographer is as soon as you have your date and venue locked-in, this ensures you lock in the talent you dreamed of capturing your wedding moments.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
We offer three levels of collections for each service; photography or cinematography. Most people choose the top or middle collection based on the amount of coverage and and options like same-day edits, etc. Each collection can be modified and added-to based on each couple's needs. It's important for us to be accommodating to the diverse groups of people we serve.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
Many of our collections include two photographers and two cinematographers for your event, allowing us to tell the story from both the bride and groom's perspectives. We like to be there to capture the moments as they unfold and keep a low profile rather than take over your entire day. This day is about couple, not about us, right? Right.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
We travel throughout the year to multiple locations. We have many couples that live in other cities that host their wedding locally. It's common for us to travel to couple's engagement sessions in the city they live or the special place where their love story unfolds. Each season we shoot several wedding events along the West Coast, the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, sunny Florida and the islands and lakes of Northern Michigan. Shooting in new locations keeps us fresh, engaged and creative. We love what we do and we love to photograph and film people in the places that are special to them.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
Each of our collections include custom, hand-made albums made in Italy. We offer a wide variety of prints and heirloom quality wall art that bring your images to life. I like to walk through the process with couples every step of the way to make the process fun, fast and easy. When images live on hard drives they tend to be hard to come across, I always say to couples; get your images printed so they can be discovered by family and friends and shared and passed down for years to come.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
We care a lot of about making sure each and film we delivery is lovingly edited; our wonderful couple's deserve that. Most times, previews are sent within a month and finished photo collections, films and albums are delivered by four months. We deliver all digital media the safest way possible; through secure cloud-based galleries. This allows couples to share, print or download from any device never having to worry about losing their wedding memories. We get so much satisfaction out of each wedding and engagement session we deliver and it's an honor to tell these stories through out images.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
I've had a lot of experience through the pandemic accommodating couples that have needed to make big changes to their wedding plans. When we receive a deposit to secure a wedding date, we protect that date and turn away every other event. That being said, we know things come up and plans change, we work towards accommodating every couple that needs to change their date and all deposit money can be used toward future events.
