1. Introduction: What's your story?
I fell in love with photography during my senior year of high school when I took the class on a whim. Little did I know that it would change the way I see the world forever. I found myself seeing beauty in everyday moments, I began to notice how lighting could affect mood and I started to pay attention to the details. I decided photography was something I wanted to turn into a career.
After high school I enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma and began to study photography. A year later I married a solider and we moved around the US and to South Korea, thus putting my education at a traditional college on hold. I ended up enrolling at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online and completed my Bachelor of Science in Photography in 2016.
The thought of shooting a wedding scared me but in 2017 a friend asked me shoot their wedding so I decided to give it a try and a few months later a family member asked me shoot their wedding and I loved it. Capturing the details, the anticipation of the bride walking down the aisle and the love between two people, I loved seeing the day unfold and capturing it along the way.
Another thing I love about being a wedding photographer is getting to know my couples before their wedding, chatting with them during our consultation, making the engagement session fun and enjoyable and spending time with them planning their timeline of the big day.
I only shoot one or two weddings a month so I can give my full attention to my couples and make these a wonderful and beautiful experience.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I shot my first wedding in 2017 and quickly fell in love with the excitement, the joy and the love. I am fairly new to the wedding photography business but I have shot 30 weddings over the past three years. And by business grows every year.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is bright and colorful with a lifestyle approach. I like capturing the real emotions and true character of my clients during their wedding. Sometimes couples (mostly the grooms) get nervous when getting their picture taken so I like making jokes and playing little games or giving my couples prompt so their day feels more relaxed and fun and I am able to capture their true smiles.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
Finding the perfect photographer can seem overwhelming and couples should select someone they connect with and enjoy. Your wedding photographer will be by your side from the beginning of the day till the end of the night so selecting someone one you like is key.
The best time to book your perfect wedding photographer is as soon as you know your date. Because I only shoot two weddings a month my couples usually book me a year in advance but I have had a few that booked me a few months before their wedding. The trend lately in Oklahoma seems to be autumn weddings with the beautiful colors and cooler weather. The month of October usually books up the fastest for me.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I offer four wedding collections, Lovely Promises, Forever Yours, True Loves Kiss and Happily Ever After. My most popular collection is Forever Yours and True Loves Kiss. Forever Yours includes six hours of coverage, an engagement session and a small photo book. True Loves Kiss includes eight hours of coverage, bridal session, engagement session and a large photo book. Couples can add a second shooter to any collection as well as other products and services.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
I am a one woman show and do it all. I will be the one you chat with during your consultation, I will be the photographer for your engagement session or bridal session and I will be the photographer for you wedding day. I do work with a few other wedding photographers if my couples wish to have a second shooter.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I don't charge a travel fee to OKC area or the McAlester Area because I have friends and family I stay with when I shoot weddings there. Other destinations I do charge a small travel fee mostly to cover gas if I can't make it home within an hour. If the drive is over an hour I ask couple to provide a hotel because after shooting 6-10 hours I am exhausted and need some rest.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
Three of my wedding collections do include a hard cover photo book filled with lots of pictures that tell your love story. Clients receive their images on a USB drive and can order prints from their online wedding gallery. Clients can also add photo books or upgrade the size of the photo book with any of my collections.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
With in a week I will post a sneak peek on social media of about 30-40 images. You will receive your full wedding gallery about 200-500+ images depending on collection in 8 to 12 weeks after your wedding day.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
I know life can get crazy and unexpected things can happen. If a couple decides to change their wedding date or push it back I do not charge a fee. If couples cancel their wedding all together the deposit is non refundable.
