1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi! My name is Rachel Permetti, the owner and lead photographer at Risen Vintage. I have always loved being creative and part of how I express myself is through photography. I began by taking pictures of nature and self-portraits. When I started taking pictures of other people in 2017, something just clicked! I loved it so much I decided to make a business out of it! I love seeing connections and candid moments through my camera lens. A photograph can transport you back to a moment in time. It can remind you of all the emotions you had on that day whether they were anticipation, happiness, tenderness, silliness, or overwhelming joy. It feels good to know that the photographs I capture someone can treasure for the rest of their lives!
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I have been interested in photographs and taking pictures since I was a young age. My mom was always documenting our lives and I love looking back at those pictures. I started to really get into taking pictures of families in 2017 as a side hustle. In 2019, I went full-time photographing both families and weddings. It has been so satisfying to live out my dream job that I worked hard for! I just love the connection and natural moments I capture during family sessions and weddings. For me, it is all about those candid smiles, silly times, and tender sweet expressions. So far, I have photographed 37 weddings for my business!
3. How would you describe your photography style?
I would describe the images that I produce as authentic, light-hearted, candid, and vintage-inspired. Photographs that make you feel as if you know exactly what the people in the images are feeling. Images that inspire you. On a more technical level, I would say my photographs are film-like, true to life, and naturally lit.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
I would say the right time to book a wedding photographer is after you've set a date and chosen a venue. Most couples book Risen Vintage 6-12 months before their wedding date. My peak booking months are November-February. The fall months fill up very quickly so if you'd like to choose Risen Vintage for your fall wedding, reach out now!
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I offer three different packages, but you can always add hourly coverage to your package for $200. If you'd like less than four hours of coverage, I charge $300 per hour up to four hours. These are my current packages:
The Gold - $1,800

Sneak Peek Online Gallery (30+ images)
Full Wedding Online Gallery
Print Release
The Silver - $1,500
6 hours of coverage
Sneak Peek Online Gallery (30+ images)

The Bronze - $1,000

You can add an engagement session to your package for $275 and you can add a second shooter for $60 per hour of coverage. The Silver package is my most popular package.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
I am the sole owner and main photographer of Risen Vintage. If you hire Risen Vintage for your wedding, I will be the one photographing it and hiring a second photographer if you choose to add one to your package. There are circumstances where I will hire someone to be my main shooter. In those instances, they will only photograph the wedding. I will edit the images and manage the customer service aspect. I hire main shooters that are of equal talent and professionalism as myself. The Risen Vintage brand will still be represented.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I love to travel! If the event is within 50 miles of my home, there is no travel fee. If the event is further than 50 miles from my home, I charge $0.50 per mile if it's within driving distance. If the event isn't within driving distance, then we would discuss costs. Generally, the client would pay for all my travel expenses if I were to fly, rent a car, and stay at a hotel or Airbnb. I have an upcoming destination wedding that I am really excited about!
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
The contract we both sign to book the event grants printing rights so clients can print their albums and prints through a third party. I also have the option to order prints through the online gallery.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
If a couple books less than four hours of coverage, they are emailed a couple of sneak peek images within a week of the wedding. If a couple books any of my packages, I guarantee the sneak peek online gallery within two weeks of the wedding which includes 30 digital edited images. I guarantee the full online wedding gallery within six to eight weeks. Both galleries are through an online image gallery system where you can download all the images and save them in a secure place. You can also send the gallery to family and friends so that they can download the images as well.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
If a couple chooses to cancel their wedding they will be refunded payments made, except the non-refundable retainer. When a couple books a date with me, that date is secured. I will not make other arrangements on that date at that time. If a couple cancels, I would be losing out on that date when I could have booked another event to secure income. I would suffer losses that are difficult to ascertain.
