1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hey, I am Brandon Savoie, lead videographer of Wedding Film Solutions! I grew up in southeast Louisiana and always enjoyed filming family events for fun at a young age. Crawfish boils, holidays, and vacations! I dreamed one day of having a pro camera. After graduating high school, I got a job as a dock worker and eventually saved up enough money to buy the Sony Z1U (it was considered fancy at the time). This opened many doors for me. With my new camera and an eagerness to learn all about video production, I gained much experience in the field, which led to becoming a 2nd shooter for weddings. It didn't take long for me to realize that I especially liked filming weddings! It always felt awesome capturing the atmosphere, details, emotions and excitement of the day. And, of course, crafting a video around the story of the couple. I started Wedding Film Solutions because I wanted to shoot weddings as much as possible. And I also wanted to provide packages that can be customized to fit a couple's budget and schedule. It has been a great experience so far and I look forward to making videos for many more couples in the future.
2. How long have you been filming weddings? How many weddings have you filmed?
About 7 years. I don't have an exact count of how many weddings I've filmed but would estimate it to be at least 100 (including my 2nd shooter gig from the early days)
3. How would you describe your videography style?
A balance between documentary storytelling and stylized shots. Couples will feel like they are reliving the special moments of their day.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding videographer?
I designed Wedding Film Solutions to be as convenient as possible! Which means that couples can book through my website even a week before their wedding. With that being said, it is best to book in the early stages of wedding planning since dates are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I have 3 different packages named Classic, Deluxe, and Custom. The custom package lets you choose the amount of coverage time and what types of edits you want (perfect for eloping and small weddings). However, the deluxe package is the most popular because it offers a full day of coverage and two edited videos: the short and feature films. The feature film is very popular because it has the entire ceremony and other extended segments of the day. It is typically 45-60 minutes long once edited.
6. Are you the wedding videographer who will be filming on the wedding day? How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?
Yes, I am the lead videographer filming on wedding day! All of my packages include 3 cameras which will be recording during the ceremony. If I am filming solo then two of the cameras will be on tripods at different angles while I operate the primary camera. The deluxe package has two videographers (myself and a 2nd shooter) which is perfect for couples that want better coverage and both bridal/groom preps covered at two different locations.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I currently do not charge a travel fee for approved locations. The price of the package is the final cost. If a couple is getting married outside of the state of Louisiana then they can submit a request and it will not cost anything additional if we accept the booking.
8. How do you back-up your footage to ensure no footage is lost and for how long do you keep the footage after the wedding?
The footage is immediately backed up to multiple destinations after the wedding including an off-site location. I keep the footage for 6 months after wedding and the couple also has the option of upgrading their package during this period. It is called the "post-wedding upgrade" and allows couples to add to their package after the wedding! Like raw footage or the feature film, for example. This flexibility helps couples decide later if they want additional options instead of having to purchase it all upfront prior to the big day.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the video? And how will the video be delivered?
The turnaround time is 12 weeks after the wedding date but could be sooner (it depends how busy we are). Couples will have the opportunity to preview their short film and request changes before it is posted online. Short films are posted on our website, facebook, instagram (intro segment only), and possibly other platforms, including Wedding Rule! It will also be available as a digital download so that couples can have a copy of the video file. The feature film is mailed in a package on a flash drive. Raw footage contains a lot of big files and is also mailed on a flash drive.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
After a couple books a package, I will reserve the wedding date and not accept any other requests for that day. For this reason, if the wedding date is changed or the event is canceled for any reason, then the booking is non-refundable. However, if I am unable to provide services during the reserved date due to a personal emergency or illness, then a refund will be given to the couple.
