1. Introduction: What's your story?

My name is Mas Mizobuchi and I am a wedding filmmaker and owner of Unscripted. The name of my company was inspired by the style of films I want to shoot and edit for my couples, and my goal for every wedding is to capture all of the natural, authentic moments that make their day so wonderful. I am based in metro Detroit but serve couples all over Michigan and sometimes destinations.

I fell in love with videography after I filmed my trip to Thailand a few years ago - to me, the process of filming and editing was as enjoyable as the vacation itself. Then in November of 2017 my sister got married in Japan, which was the first wedding I've ever filmed. I posted that wedding video on craigslist (yes out of all places!) and I booked three weddings for 2018, and the rest is history!

2. How long have you been filming weddings? How many weddings have you filmed?

I have filmed several other weddings as a second shooter for other companies as well.

3. How would you describe your videography style?

My style of shooting is candid and natural. I almost never have the couple look at my camera because I want the footage to look like I wasn't there. My style of editing is timeless and true to life in terms of color.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding videographer?

Couples should book their wedding videographer at least 6 months in advance to get the right videographer. I have most of my couples book me more in advance than that.

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I offer three packages, a 6 hour, 8 hour or 10 hour package. All of the packages include a highlight film which is a short film, 3 to 8 minutes depending on the package. The most popular package is the 10 hour package, which includes a highlight film, a full documentary style-edit of the wedding, Instagram teaser, and two videographers. 6. Are you the wedding videographer who will be filming on the wedding day? How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?

Yes! I will be the videographer that will be filming, or at least one of the videographers. I usually bring a second shooter and use two to four cameras depending on the event during the wedding.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

I do charge a travel fee for places that are 2 hours away or more. It'll cover mileage, lodging, and any flights if required.

8. How do you back-up your footage to ensure no footage is lost and for how long do you keep the footage after the wedding?

For each wedding I store the footage in multiple external drives in different locations, and I keep the footage for at least a year after the wedding.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the video? And how will the video be delivered?

The videos will be delivered electronically and with a USB drive. Instagram teasers are delivered about a week after the wedding, highlight films are 2 to 3 months, documentary style edits are 2 to 4 months.
