Description

CASSIE VALENTE
I’m a native Georgia peach, currently residing in the colorful Mission District of San Francisco. Most of my childhood was spent in Atlanta, surrounded by my beloved Georgia Tech campus and an endless plethora of smoked brisket. I met Michael, my college sweetheart, shortly after freshman year and in 2012, added our sweet pitbull Rusty to the family. My poor car hasn’t known what it’s like to be clean since.

In 2015, we decided to start a new adventure out on the west (best?) coast. Two years later, we got married in the city we now call home. These days, I live life surrounded by olive trees, Mission-style burritos, and Karl the Fog, but continue to answer the constant call of travel in order to document weddings and love stories all across the world. With all my experiences in planning weddings from either side of the equation, I feel like I have so much to share with my clients in terms of both structure and tireless creativity.

In addition to capturing the precious moments of your wedding day, I offer custom timeline planning, trusted vendor recommendations, strong attention to detail, and an incredibly personal experience from inquiry to delivery. The relationships I have with my brides and grooms are of utmost importance to me.

FAQs

I am a hybrid wedding and portrait photographer, fluent in both digital and analog film photography. Rather than following trends and the latest fads on Pinterest, I strive to create timeless and authentic imagery with an elegant, classic, and clean style. I take a photojournalistic-meets-natural-styled approach to each session I shoot, so I will give you plenty of space, but also be there to help with natural and relaxed posing.
Both! By shooting digital AND film, I’m able to utilize the strengths of each medium while also delivering a consistent and cohesive wedding collection. There are so many reasons why I choose to include film in my work - from the incredible dynamic range to the timelessness of analog photography - but the main reason is because it allows me to slow down and take my time in crafting each image. To me, shooting film means shooting with intention. That’s not to say that digital images don’t have their place! Digital images have incredible clarity and versatility in tough lighting situations where I want to test different settings in order to capture the moment perfectly. I want your pictures to be something tangible that you will keep and look back on forever, and shooting a hybrid blend of both digital and film mediums helps me do exactly that.
Engagement sessions are delivered within 3-4 weeks. Wedding galleries are delivered within 4-6 weeks. I shoot roughly 75-100 images per hour of coverage. If you choose to include an assistant photographer, expect closer to 100-125 images per hour of coverage.
Yes! I’m so honored to have recent features in The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, People Magazine, US Weekly, Over The Moon, Wedding Sparrow, Dear Gray, Rue Magazine, 100 Layer Cake, Inspired By This, Green Wedding Shoes, Southern Weddings, Cottage Hill Magazine, Ultimate Wedding Magazine, Hochzeitsguide, Belle Lumiere Magazine, and many more.
Absolutely! I am based in San Francisco, CA but have photographed weddings all over. My passport is current - just say the word!
