We are Charleston wedding photographers who can’t resist a good love story filled with beauty, adoring family, hilarious friends, signature cocktails, touching speeches, and a bang-up dance floor.
Charleston is one of the most popular wedding destinations because of the tropical weather, the walkable downtown, the celebratory atmosphere, the history, the beach, the insanely good restaurant scene, and all the fun things your wedding guests can do before and after the wedding itself.
We live in downtown Charleston, and our photography studio is three miles from our house. Since 2005, we’ve photographed hundreds of weddings all over the world, and we’ve been featured in publications including People Magazine and CNN. But we love a good backyard wedding as much as anything, so you can rest easy knowing the photos we create for you will be personal to you, and spectacularly unique.
We are Erin and Ben Chrisman, owners of Chrisman Studios. As former journalists, we love to hear a good story. So if you're in Charleston, come by the studio and see us. And you're coming from out of town, don't hesitate to give us a call at (843) 410-3076 or send us an email at info@chrismanstudios.com. We can't wait to learn all about you and your wedding.

The BEST photographers you will ever meet!
Ben and Erin are in a league of their own. My husband and I hired them to photograph our wedding in New York, and it was a decision that literally cha...nged our lives. We had not met them before our wedding, but from the moment they showed up they were ready to become a part of our family. Since our wedding, they have become the "official photographers" of our family and have photographed weddings and events for siblings, cousins, friends, etc.
The photos from our wedding far exceeded what we could have ever expected! In addition to being amazing photographers, they took a genuine interest in who we are and were able to get photos unlike anything we had ever seen before. They work SO hard to capture every single moment, and you'll find them under chairs, tables and in unimaginable places to get the kinds of shots they're known for.
On our wedding day, we planned a 3 hour break for portraits. Ben and Erin ran around with us to capture portraits in front of our favorite backdrops. They were ready to do *anything* to get us the photos we envisioned. Erin even gave me her jacket to protect my dress at one point in our portrait adventures. With their photos, they managed to make us see a place we had lived in for 10 years differently than we had ever seen it before. I can still stare at our photos for hours and remember exactly how we felt. They captured every single thing that happened, and in a way that our own eyes can't see.
When it was time to create our album, they put incredible amounts of thought and care into making it perfect. They're willing to suggest ideas, and happy to work with yours. They showed us samples of albums and spent hours talking with us about what they thought would be best for us and our photos. The end result is an amazing wedding album that does justice to their photos.
One of the things that I appreciate the most about Ben and Erin is how they truly get to know each and every one of their couples. If you ever ask them about a specific wedding or photo, they can tell you everything about the couple, wedding, family members, friends, etc. as though they've been a part of each family. When you look at the types of photos that they're able to capture, you realize that much of it is because people feel comfortable opening up to them and their cameras. They have a rare gift for photography and relationships.
If you can find a date that Ben and Erin are free for your wedding, take it! Hiring them was the single best wedding planning decision we made. We can't wait for more family weddings to have an excuse to get in front of their cameras!
