The wedding, the couple, the city, the people you love

As a New York City wedding photographer, my clients trust me to capture the small intricate moments to commemorate their special day: that tear in the father’s eye as he walks his daughter down the aisle, the frantically awaited groomsman, the flower girl tripping over herself and the colorful petals flying about.

From a young age, people begin to wonder what their wedding day might look like. A little girl wonders what her dress might look like, and a little boy wonders what his vows might be. Everyone wonders what their bride or groom will look like. Will they be handsome? Will they be kind and gentle and get along well with their parents?

When two people fall in love, the couple inevitably starts to talk about what that special day might look like. As their love grows, the vows that they might write start to form in their heads whether they know it or not at the time, in anticipation of the day that they perhaps will be expressed in a sacred ceremony. They talk about their special day over dinner, possibly while lying in bed, or casually over the phone. It is almost as important as the first time that a couple says, “I love you” to one another. The first time the couple expresses a desire to commit to each other through a wedding ceremony communicates love and a desire to spend the rest of the time with one another.
