Walnut Grove

Description

Walnut Grove is an ideal place for a beautiful rustic wedding. Located beneath majestic trees on a country farm our scenery cant be matched.

It takes practically no time at all for Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Farms to rejuvenate the flagging spirit of anyone beleaguered by city stresses. The road into the 120-acre spread follows along a creek, past a majestic stand of eucalyptus and row upon row of walnut trees. In springtime, you’re treated to a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills covered with the green felt of new grass, and apricot trees exploding in a cloud of white blossoms; in summer and autumn, oranges, avocados and harvest vegetables grow on nearby fields and hillsides. By the time you’ve reached the wedding site, the fragrant air and pervasive calm have already begun to smooth your rough edges.

The main celebration area is a clearing in the midst of a 50-year-old walnut grove, where a brick path in a feathery green meadow makes a fetching wedding aisle. Couples say their vows while above them tree branches intertwine forming a dense leafy canopy.

Not far from the grove, a brick patio sweeps around a huge polished dance floor at the foot of a cut-stone stage. Fashioned in three side-by-side half-moon sections, the stage inspires imaginative flourishes: Put your DJ in one section, lounge furniture in another and the wedding cake or the sweetheart table in the center for maximum effect. The steps leading up to center stage are inset with path lights, while along the back of the stage a low stone wall culminates in a flagstone fireplace. A wooden pergola overhead looks enchanting strung with fairy lights, floral garlands or strings of crystals to catch the sun or moonlight. Meanwhile, guests dine at tables set on the patio. At night, the starry sky is echoed by a galaxy of twinkling lights in the tree branches.

Originally founded in 1935, historic Tierra Rejada is still a working farm that gives visitors a glimpse into the simple life and traditions of bygone days. Yet the bucolic setting can also be dressed to impress. With the fine cuisine and event styling of Command Performance Catering, weddings at this beautiful locale can run the gamut from chic soirée to family-friendly barbecue. Exciting presentations, such as elaborate food station receptions or theme weddings, are a Command Performance specialty. And the superb chefs love to customize menus, so don’t hesitate to ask!

Whether you choose to have a formal affair in the Walnut Grove or something much more relaxed, you’re bound to be smitten by this wedding venue’s country charm.
