On-site coordinators are available to manage exactly that...those things that are on-site and having to do directly with the venue. As you know, there are many more facets to planning a wedding than the venue. A good wedding planner will be there to give you unbiased recommendations and advise. An on-site coordinator is not only often times biased but also giving recommendations just based on their minimal exposure to the vendors that have visited their venue. They also are not included in the hiring and dealings of these recommended vendors so they cannot speak to how pleasant, professional, and honest those vendors are since they are only seeing them on the day of the event and for limited time. A wedding planner knows the process of planning an entire wedding not just a segment of the wedding. A wedding planner has your best interest at heart. They are working for you. The on-site coordinator is working for the venue. An experienced wedding planner will know when a vendor is good or not so good. Having a bad vendor can make your wedding super stressful! A wedding planner knows about all the little details and they will ensure that they are executed as flawlessly as possible on your wedding day. An on-site coordinator does not have access to all of the little details so the may get overlooked. Finally, a wedding planner is there to help you from the beginning to end.
